School Site Council

The School Site Council (SSC) is a collaborative group of Lawson parents and staff who work together to support the school’s SPSA (School Plan for Student Achievement) goals in alignment with the District’s LCAP (Local Control and Accountability Plan) goals. The council reviews school data, monitors the school budget, discusses the School Safety Plan, and helps develop next steps to enhance student learning and achievement.

At Lawson, the English Learner Advisory Committee (ELAC) is incorporated into the SSC. In this role, the council also advises the principal and staff on the development of a site plan for English learners and submits recommendations to the School Site Council for consideration and inclusion in the School Plan for Student Achievement. Additionally, the council assists in the development of the schoolwide needs assessment, ensuring that the needs of English learners are thoughtfully considered.

The committee meets several times throughout the year. Meetings may be held in person or remotely, based on the preference of the regular members. All meetings are open to the public, and notices, along with the agenda, will be posted at the school site and linked below:
